ABOUT US

We are an adviser to growing private equity businesses drawn from a range of industries across UK, Europe, Africa and the Far East, many with a clean technology focus. Our founders Gordon and Patricia Power bring together over 35 years’ of venture capital and private equity experience and provide advice and mentoring to management teams on business development, general management and fund-raising strategies. 

 

GP Private Equity takes a long-term view of business and seeks to assist in the delivery of advice and finance to match this long-term vision. Our experience has shown it’s a lonely experience managing and running a business and we are here to help and support management teams meet their vision.

Founder and Director

Gordon started his career in private equity in 1984 with Guinness Mahon, by 1997 he had founded the private equity business ProVen Private Equity (now re-named Beringea) and led its buy-out from Guinness Mahon. Through ProVen and subsequently Earth Capital Holdings, he has spearheaded the creation and marketing of funds, co-investments and the investment and exit of deals through over 500 independent financial advisers and over 200 banks, insurance companies, mutual funds and high net worth family offices.  Following his successful exit of ProVen, Gordon created a new investment vehicle with Stephen Lansdown, Earth Capital Holdings which has invested in a platform of fund managers and funds.

Throughout his career Gordon has assisted and raised capital for over 250 businesses.

PATRICIA POWER

Founder and Director

Patricia has over 30 years of experience in the PR and marketing which has seen her career span across the retail, engineering and financial sectors. She began her career at the renowned jewellers, Asprey in Bond Street before moving to the banking sector at Guinness Mahon. She has also worked in the past with several licensing companies including advising Guinness Mahon Development Capital when it owned and managed the rights to the famous children’s character, Sooty, the glove puppet through to Link Licensing Ltd when it handled the UK right’s to many children’s properties which at that time included Barbie , Angelina Ballerina and many more.  

 

At GP Private Equity she predominantly handles Investors Relations and PR and Marketing.

SUE MAIN

Personal Assistant

Sue has a wide ranging office administrative skill set having worked for various companies across  different sectors over the years.  She has also used her vast experience in office management to project manage the relocation and refurbishment of many London based companies.     Sue has more recently relocated to Devon where she assists in the smooth running of all aspects of the company.
